Oxygen saturation level in body – it’s relation to body organs in terms of functioning

Oxygen saturation level in blood – in simple terms can be expressed as a measure of oxygen that is carried in blood in dissolved state. Blood acts as a carrier agent (forwarding) to carry oxygen across the state (organized community of organs) in our body.

Oxygen is necessary for our body. It is absorbed in our body through a chemical process (not a chemical process carried out in laboratories). Here oxygen taken in while inhaling oxygen transforms various carbohydrates, vitamins and other minerals taken in while eating. Oxygen reacts with these energy efficient minerals to give energy to our body. That is why oxygen is important to our body – to make our bodies energy filled.

Let’s talk about normal ranges of oxygen required for our body. Oxygen in normal ranges should be between 95%-99% in our blood. Any slight deviations from these ranges put our body at risk of attracting a disease. If oxygen level falls below 80% in low oxygen condition, then it could be a matter of grave concern. Similarly, oxygen level tend to be on higher side (above normal limits of around 99%), this condition also fall in grave concern category.

Saturation means certain percentage of soluble ingredient dissolved in a solvent above which its percentage cannot be increased by any hook or crook method. In this case, our soluble ingredient is oxygen and solvent is our friend which we call our blood.

Saturated oxygen is contained in red blood corpuscles in blood. It is referred to as a measurement for the amount of degrees stored in our blood. Oxygen, it is sucked in our body through two passages present in our nose. Oxygen moving around lungs clings to our blood which is in continuous motion in our body. All routes of our blood pass through heart, which acts as a cleaning machine for our body. Clean blood originating from heart reaches lungs where oxygen clings to red blood corpuscles in the blood. This oxygen rich blood travels to all parts of body. While passing through, fixed quantity of oxygen clings on. No other %age gets dissolved limiting any further absorption. When father absorption stops, this is oxygen saturation. But, a word of caution applies here. When saturated oxygen alters its prescribed limits, time to see a medical practitioner.

Oxygen saturation level is a relative measure of oxygen that is carried in the blood flow. As blood flow reaches every part of our body, so is oxygen.

Symptoms of changes in blood oxygen levels:

Blood oxygen does not mean to stay within specific wave lengths (high or low). It can be in any range. So, it’s very much feasible to discuss both the conditions (I means conditions if our blood contains low saturated oxygen with high saturated oxygen in blood as well).

Low saturated oxygen level symptoms:

If saturated oxygen falls below normal ranges, then it could be identified by following symptoms:

  • Headache
  • Fast breathing.
  • Dizziness
  • Shortness in breath.
  • Excessive fatigue
  • When confusion prevails.
  • Nail beds turning blue
  • Top of skin turning blue
  • Mucosa going blue

These are few symptoms which could be beneficial to single out low saturated oxygen in blood. Apart from these, list of symptoms could be unending, as blood with oxygen and being in continuous flow in a body may leave its impact in some part of a body. Taking particular in view, a doctor can give proper advice and cure

High oxygen level symptoms:

Now let us take a look at some symptoms of high oxygen level in blood:

  • Inflammation in lungs
  • Visual disturbance
  • Restlessness.
  • Disturbance in sleep.

High blood oxygen like its reversal on lower side also is a major cause of concern. Fix an appointment with a doctor to take due course of treatment.

Causes of low and high blood oxygen levels:

Some of the causes for high and low blood oxygen levels are:

  • Lung disease.
  • Asthma
  • Anemia
  • Pneumonia

Tips for improving saturating oxygen levels in blood:

Saturating oxygen levels if have deviated from normal levels does not contain worry. Slight changes in living styles can have vast changes in” let’s talk about” saturated oxygen in blood. These tips just need little care

  • Deep breathing: Taking deep breaths adds values to changes in oxygen levels in blood. As we take in oxygen, oxygen directly go to our lungs. Lungs have the right to accumulate all inhaled oxygen. As blood passes through, oxygen mixes with blood. Deep breathing is helpful to normalize oxygen values.
  • Adding plants to our sorroundings: Blessed with process of photosynthesis produces oxygen, our surroundings’ if have good plants, more oxygen generation in progress. More oxygen means more to be inhaled for us. This requires only slight investments. Just have to go to a nursery to buy a plant. Alternatively, your gardener can also bring some good quality of plants.
  • Drinking water in good quantity: There is enough of oxygen dissolved in this life saving agent or water we can say. Drinking enough water during the day flushes out toxins from our body. More flushing creates good enough space in our stomach. Water being a rich carrier of dissolved oxygen can prove to be a major source of oxygen that is required for our body.
  • Taking healthy diet plans: Try choosing healthy diet plans as more healthy foods we have, more is the generation of oxygen needed for blood.
  • Daily walks: Walk a mile. This should be our motto. More walks we have, faster our heart works due to the fatigue that our body is in during walks. Fast heart beats let in more air intake through our nose. Air directly goes to our lungs mixing with blood in blood oxygen mixture chamber.
  • Jogging: Jogging produces more air inhale through (just similar to walking but with slight better results) as during jogging more air intake takes place as compared to walking. Air inhale lets in more oxygen giving chamber inside bodies chance to mix blood with oxygen resulting in oxygen laden blood flow freely across the body.
  • Aerobics: Another good chance of improving oxygen content in blood is to have few sessions of aerobics exercises. Just be on the lookout of a good place for your aerobics.

Facts to remember:

Some facts for saturated blood oxygen to remember are:

  • Oxygen levels in blood should be in normal range.
  • Little changes in normal changes could be a cause of concern.
  • Slight changes in normal blood oxygen values need consultation of a registered medical practitioner.
  • Slight changes in our living (eating practices, exercises) can bring abrupt changes in deviations which have happened in oxygen values.
