MCA Entrance syllabus for Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)

Master of Computer Applications in JNU is offered by the department School of Computer and Systems Sciences established in the year 1975 aimed to offer postgraduate and doctorate degree in MCA, M. Tech, M.Phil and Ph.D. The total seats available in JNU for the MCA programme is 46 (intake).

Eligibility:

Student should hold bachelor degree in any discipline-subject that include B.Sc., BCA and B.Tech and the student should also have studied Maths at 10+2+3 and have secured at least 55% marks.

Syllabus and marking Scheme:

JNU conduct written Entrance exam where the question paper consist of 100 multiple choices based question paper (MCQs). For every correct answer 1 mark is awarded where for incorrect answers 0.25 marks is deducted.

The question contains question based on General Aptitude, Reasoning, 10+2/ graduate level Maths, Statics and Probability. The syllabus contains 80% questions from Mathematics and rest 20% is based on other subjects.

MCA Entrance syllabus for University of Delhi (DU)

Delhi University or DU is the Central University of Govt. of India and managed and operated by the Central Govt. and some of the colleges affiliated to Delhi University are managed and operated by the State Govt. of NCT of Delhi.

Master of Computer Applications is offered by the Department of Computer Sciences of University of Delhi. The Department of Computer Sciences started offering degree in MCA since the year 1981 as a three year postgraduate programme. Beside Undergraduate and Postgraduate degree the Dept. of Computer Sciences also offers doctorate (Ph.D) degree.

Eligibility:

As far as the eligibility for the getting admission in University of Delhi under MCA programme is concered the student should have passed any bachelor degree from University of Delhi or any other University recognized as equivalent to the Delhi University. Apart from holding bachelor degree in any discipline subject (B.Sc., B.Tech and BCA) the student should also have studied and passed at least one subject in Mathematics, Computer Sciences, Statics and Operational Research.

Syllabus and marking Scheme:

Admission under MCA programme is offered through Entrance examine including an interview. The marking weightage include 85% score of the entrance exam and 15% has been kept for the interview. The question paper consist of up to 280 (include optional) questions where the student have to attempt up to 70 question. For every correct answer 4 mark is awarded and for every incorrect answer 1 marks is deducted. The question paper contains Multiple choices based questions.

The question paper contains questions 40 questions from Mathematical abilities, 5 questions from the Computer Sciences, 5 question from English Comprehension and 20 questions are based on logical reasoning.

MCA Entrance syllabus for GGS Indraprastha University, Delhi

IP University is the State University of the Govt. of NCT of Delhi. There are more than 100s of colleges and institutes affiliated to IP University under various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Degree in MCA is offered by the Dept of Computer Science known as the University School of Information Technology of IP University including upto 21 self-financing (private) and Govt. colleges.

Master of Computer Application (MCA) is offered by the Indraprastha University also known as GGSIPU is a three year postgraduate programme where the students holding BCA, B.Tech and B.Sc. (in IT & Maths) can join this programme. Admission in IPU is given through the Entrance Exam known as the “Common Entrance Test” conducted by the University.

Eligibility:

In order to apply for the MCA admission in IPU the student should hold bachelor degree either in BCA, B.Sc. or B.Tech etc. and must have studied Maths (Computer Science) in 10+2+3. In addition to this, the student should have secured at least 55% marks in undergraduate.

Syllabus and marking Scheme:

The question paper contains 25% questions from Mathematics, 25% from English & Comprehension, 25% from Computer Awareness and rest 25% are from Logical and analytical ability. The question paper contains 150 questions where for every correct answer 4 marks are awarded and 1 marks is deducted for every incorrect answer.

MCA Entrance syllabus for Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI)

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University is the Central University of Govt. of India established in 1920 as the Muslim Minority University. JMI or Jamia Millia Islamia University offers diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil. and doctorate degree in approximately 300 subjects.

Admission in MCA is offered through the Entrance Exam conducted by the Dept. of Computer Science of Jamia Millia Islamia University. The University intake only 50 seats which is quite disappointing in the country with such a large population.

Eligibility:

The student with undergraduate in BCA, B.Sc. and B.Tech etc. are eligible for getting admission in JMI. The student should have passed any disciplined programme with at least 55% marks and should have studied Maths at 10+2+3 level.

Syllabus and marking Scheme:

The question paper contains 100 questions from Mathematics (50%), Computer Awareness (20%), Reasoning (25%) and General English (10%). For every valid answer 1 marks is awarded where for invalid answers there is negative marking of -0.25.

MCA Entrance syllabus for Jamia Hamdard University (JMU)

Jamia Hamdard University (JMU) is a Semi-Govt. aided and Deemed University located in the National Capital of India, New Delhi. JMU was established in the year 1989 and offers degree in undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate including MBBS.

In Jamia Hamdard University MCA is a three year postgraduate programme that intake 60 that include 50 General, 10 sponsored (include 2 NRI)

Eligibility:

Master of Computer Applications was offered by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, but now it has been discontinued.

Chandigarh University is a private University approved and certified by the UGC, AICTE and NAAC. In CU the MCA is a 3 years postgraduate full-time programme.

Eligibility:

Banaras Hindu University often referred as “BHU” formerly known as “Central Hindu College” was established in the year 1916 during the colonial period in India. It is one of the most reputed University in India and abroad. BHU offers degree in undergraduate, postgraduate, master and doctorate etc.

Eligibility:

Students who have secured at least 50% marks in any discipline course include 10+2+3 and who have studied and passed at least 1 paper either in Computer Science or Mathematics are eligible for the admission.

Goa University is a State University managed and established by the State Govt. of Goa in 1985 and has been ranked the best 16th University by the Govt. of India.

Master of Computer Application is offered by the Department of Computer Science and Technology of University of Goa which was established in the year 1987 and the total intake is up to 60 seats.

Eligibility:

Admission under MCA programme is offered through the entrance exam conducted by the Goa University and the students with at least 55% marks at 10+2+3 (undergraduate) level are eligible to participate in the admission process and for the entrance exam. Punjab University originated in 1882, but official came in establishment in 1947. PU or Punjab University has been ranked in the best Universities in the Asia.

Eligibility:

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is a Muslim Minority University situated in the Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh established in 1875 and currently offers degree in up to 300 courses.

At AMU, Master of Computer Application is a three year postgraduate programme where the students studied BCA, B.Tech, B.E and B.Sc. etc. can join this programme. MCA Entrance syllabus for National Institutes of Technology (NIT)

National Institutes of Technology most often referred as NIT is one of the biggest institution in India with up to than 31 centers across India. Currently, degree in Master of Computer Application is offered 11 centers of NITs which include Warangal, Agartala, Tiruchirappalli, Jamshedpur, Bhopal, Allahabad, Surathkal, Kurukshetra, Calicut, Raipur and Durgapur.

Eligibility:

Admission in NIT is given on the basis of merit of the entrance exam , “NIT MCA Common Entrance Test” conducted by the National Institutes of Technology unanimously.
